One of our newer residents, a beautiful yet feral girl named Freckles, is resting comfortably at the vet’s, being treated for a very bad upper respiratory infection. ‘Tis the season…..we can’t wait for Purdy’s Perch to be completed, so sick animals can remain onsite while they are recuperating. Freckles came in with a group from a hoarders home you probably heard of in the news. Isn’t it amazing that a rescue effort that was so famous, still needs places like OMS for these cast-aways. Purdy’s Perch is so important because the cost of housing a sick animal overnight at a hospital could be $500 to $1000 a day.
